GERTRUDE (BURFORD) RAWLINGS
Gertrude was born Gertrude Helen Jane, the eldest child of Benjamin
Burford Rawlings and his wife Jane Victoria Keddel, in or about 1873, at Plaisetow, Essex, England. At the age
of twenty-nine, under the name of Gertrude Burford Rawlings, she translated in 1902 a french book
entitled:
"THE BOOKE OF THENSEYGNEMENTES AND TECHNYNGE THAT

Using the same pen name, Gertrude went on to publish, "THE STORY of the
BRITISH COINAGE" in 1905, and then authored and published at least three other books over the
next twenty-two years:
"THE STORY of BOOKS" in 1917
"THE STREETS of LONDON" in 1926
"OLD LONDON" in 1927
I have been able to source two of them as ebooks and include them here to download
as PDF format files...
